Keep Your Teens Safe with Cybersecurity Skills

Giving the youth the skills to deal with these issues while not taking away the plethora of opportunities provided by the internet is what we had in mind when creating our CyberSurfer program. This new program tackles the issue of delivering the training these teens need while putting it in a fun and easy-to-follow format. With topics ranging from cyberbullying to money scams, it can seem overwhelming to know how to recognize and, more importantly, deal with each situation. CyberSurfer provides teens with great insight into many of the threats they may face and examples of how they are presented in everyday scenarios. The module will then walk you through the best ways to solve the situation and when to notify an adult.

One of the most powerful weapons wielded by scammers is urgency. This is a dangerous weapon as even though we have the means to look up the issue right in our hands, this sense of urgency often gets rid of our senses. Identifying the problem and knowing how to deal with it makes it far easier to stay calm and act reasonably and efficiently. For example, the difference between a digital gift card present from your relative and a fake gift card scam can be as slight as an added different period in the email you received it from and as simple to solve as a quick text. When you recognize the control you still have in this situation; it becomes far easier to handle the situation. Contact us to learn more.
