We are Native owned and operated and have been a leading provider of custom e-learning and professional development training services since 2006. For over 17 years we have created innovative custom e-learning solutions using research-informed design and development techniques. Every custom e-learning solution we design is developed in-house by our instructional design experts and development team.

Laurel Silk, MAEd
Chief Executive Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the education industry and a track record for effectively leading teams, Laurel has an impressive background that sets her up as the perfect CEO to guide SilkWeb's growth. She excels at helping institutions develop custom courseware solutions and programming strategies ideal for driving student enrollment while maintaining academic excellence - especially within multicultural communities, including HBCUs and Tribal Colleges. A true force of knowledge and compassion, Laurel is a proud member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe who has dedicated herself to impacting multicultural communities for over 20 years. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in English and Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, she co-authored seven textbooks as a faculty member-- further demonstrating both her expertise and passion for education and technology.
Michael Shaw, DM
Chief Operations Officer
With an impressive 20+ years in leadership and a wealth of teaching, business process development, and course creation skills under his belt, Dr. Shaw is the perfect choice for tackling modern managerial issues with critical yet creative thinking strategies. With two decades of leadership experience and a passion for research, Dr. Shaw is an impressive leader. He has not only taught hundreds of education courses but also applied his critical thinking to solve complex institutional problems, leading institutions through organizational changes. His decision-making skills have created new business processes and refined existing production cycles to optimize work progress whilst increasing revenue. Dr. Shaw has the expertise to ensure success for any project, from start to finish. With a Doctor of Management degree in Organizational Leadership and an MBA, Dr. Shaw is adept at planning, assigning resources strategically, and setting realistic budgets while keeping stakeholders informed throughout every step of the process - making sure everyone stays on track with their goals.
